US steel import slow, expects strong in 2013

According to report, the US steel import remains slow to the end of the year; however, it is expected it will pick up in 2013.

Due to the price gap is not large between domestic and foreign markets as well as the long lead times for imports, the import turned the lowest from the past years.

Current the fourth quarter prices are seen to be stronger as the market participants expect the outlook for imported material is better for the next few months.
